Capture Cartridge

Paraclipse’s Capture Cartridge auto-advances, so a fresh adhesive and attractant surface is always presented. As insects become trapped, they are rolled into the receiving end of the cartridge. When it’s time to dispose of the cartridge, the trapped insects are contained in the cartridge housing for clean and sanitary handling.

The Paraclipse Insect Control Systems are the safest and most sanitary way to trap flies and other insects. Research has shown that when insects are electrocuted, bug zappers can spread a mist containing insect parts up to about 7 feet (2.1 m) from the device. The air around the bug zapper can become contaminated by bacteria and viruses that can be inhaled by, or settle on the food of people nearby. Glue boards become carpeted with insects, and then must be handled. Chemical fly control systems are toxic, and always pose a risk of contamination.

The Paraclipse system avoids the problems of other control methods, while also offering an effective insect control system that is powerfully attracting and better designed for public spaces.

 No other fly control system has our auto advancing cartridge. Working much like 35mm camera film, the cartridge allows for thousands of flies to be caught over 30-60 days (depending on the system you choose). A motor slowly advances the cartridge each day, providing a fresh glue surface to catch more flying insects, rolling them up into the cartridge so you don’t have to deal with the dead insect parts. In contrast, over a thirty -day period, standard glue boards are exposed to light, dust and accumulating insect catch with no ability to provide fresh glue and attractant unless you change it out. Any insects that have not stuck to the traditional now dry glue board will fall off, exposing your staff and area to dead bugs.

We use ultraviolet light as the main attractant, then add nontoxic fly and fruit fly attractants to the glue surface. Our cartridges feature red paper, which we have proven attracts more flies than the industry standard white glue boards or yellow/green paper. Recent upgrades to our attractant have proven to be over 70% more effective than our previous formula while remaining nontoxic. Another unique feature of our cartridge paper are the decoys are printed on the paper of Ultra, Fruit Fly Patrol and Terminator cartridges to lure pests to the sticky surface. Flies are social creatures, so adding this feature really does affect how well our cartridges catch flies.

In early 2023 we started blending the secret sauces and with a small change to our attractant recipe developed the Hybrid Max formula! This formula, used on our Ultra, Fruit Fly Patrol and Terminator cartridges, is now an “all fly” attractant and still nontoxic and made without the use of pesticides or insecticides. 

The Mosquito Eliminator cartridges features an attractant specifically designed to capture  mosquitoes, as well as a few other annoying outdoor insects. It utilizes blue paper, a color mosquitos favor . The Mosquito Eliminator cartridge is also nontoxic  and made without the use of pesticides or insecticides, just like all our Paraclipse formulas.
